Tour Summary
15 Nights
Meals: 15 Breakfasts 12 Lunches 11 Dinners

Day 1: Heading to Nata
Depart Johannesburg early in the morning and make your way up to the Botswana border. After crossing the border, continue north to the Nata Lodge where you will camp for the night. Enjoy the view as you look out over the Sowa salt pan.
Day 2: Exploring the Makgadikgadi Pans
After breakfast transfer to a 4x4 vehicle for an excursion into the Sowa Pans before returning to camp for lunch and a chance to cool off from the heat with a swim in the pool. Later in the day drive to the Makgadikgadi Pans to investigate this salt flat that is the size of Switzerland for various antelope. You’ll spend the night out in the remote reaches of the pans under a star-studded night.
Day 3: Travelling To Maun
Begin the day with some more exploration of the pans before driving to your camp on the banks of the Boteti River, just outside of Maun. The camp will offer you the chance to wash up after the dusty conditions of the Makgadikgadi.
Take the opportunity in the afternoon to visit a local village for a chance to interact with some locals and learn about their way of life. Tonight, back at camp, enjoy a traditional ‘braai’ (barbecue) for dinner.
Days 6-7: Cruising Through the Okavango Delta
This morning experience the unique ecosystem of the Okavango Delta – the world’s largest inland delta. Begin your 3-night excursion with a drive to the edge of the Delta before transferring to mokoros – traditional dugout canoes. Tranquilly float along the waterways as your guide pushes you to your camp site.
Enjoy the next three days exploring the area on foot and by mokoro as you search this remote area for wildlife, such as elephants and hippos, and bird life, such as the African fish eagle. Learn about the flora and fauna as your local guides explain to you about the region’s diverse vegetation.
Day 7: Fly Over the Delta
Wake up early and set out on one final game walk before breaking camp and returning to your camp on the Boteti River. If time permits, head into Maun and take an optional scenic flight over the spectacular Okavango Delta.
Days 8-12: Game Viewing in Moremi, Savuti, and Chobe
Heading into Maun quickly stock up on supplies for your 5-day journey into the wilderness reserves between Maun and Kasane in the north. Fall asleep listening to the howls of the hyenas as you camp near the 3rd Bridge in the Moremi Game Reserve.
Continuing north you’ll reach the excellent game viewing area of Xakanaxa and the North Gate. Here, you’ll set up camp and explore the wetland area on a morning and afternoon game drive.
Next, you get to Savuti, an area with several game viewing options, and a very open camp site. The wildlife has been known to come and plunder the supplies of visitors.
Move into Chobe National Park, on your last day, and explore the banks of the Chobe River searching for the impressively large elephant herds that the park is well-known for.
Following your morning drive through the park, head east exiting the park and crossing the border into Zimbabwe. Tonight you’ll spend the night in Victoria Falls.
Days 13-14: Getting a Thrill in Victoria Falls
Wake up to the excitement of partaking in several of the optional adventure activities that give Victoria Falls, its moniker of ‘the adventure capital of Africa.’
Start your day with white water rafting down the Zambezi, then bungee jump off the Victoria Falls Bridge, and in the afternoon abseil into Batoka Gorge. Or begin with a scenic flight over the Falls, then a lion walk at a rehabilitation centre, and then an afternoon elephant back safari.
In the evenings, you can explore the many great restaurants in town for a delicious meal and night cap (both are own expenses) as you listen to the falls roar in the distance.
Day 15: Crossing Back to Botswana
Cross back into Botswana and travel south to the camp in Nata. Keep an eye open as you travel as occasionally elephants are seen wandering along the highway. Have one final dinner with your group at the Nata Lodge as you reminisce about your great adventure.
Day 16: Scenic Flight Over the Okavango Delta
Continue south, crossing the border back into South Africa as you make your way to Johannesburg. Your tour ends upon your arrival to the city of gold in the early evening.
