    Day 1: Heading for the Cederberg Mountains

    Your journey begins as you say goodbye to Cape Town, getting one last photo of her impressive Table Mountain from across the bay, and head for the Cederberg Mountains. Along the way, you’ll stop and visit a local wine farm in Piketberg for a tasting before continuing on to your accommodation in Cederberg.

    Day 2: Crossing the Orange River

    Continue northern through the Northern Cape to the Orange River – the natural border between Namibia and South Africa. After crossing the border, its just a short drive to your accommodation on the river. Enjoy the rest of the day down by the river having a swim.

    Day 3: Relaxing in the Hot Springs of Ai-Ais

    If the weather is warm enough, why not explore the breathtaking river valley in an optional morning canoe excursion. After lunch, make your way to the Fish River Canyon and take a scenic hike around the world’s second largest canyon. Later, you return to your accommodation in Ai-Ais for the evening. Relax at the hot springs after your fun-filled day.

    Day 4: Checking out the Kokerboom Forest

    Today, drive to the Kalahari area to experience the Kokerboom Forest. These unique trees are also known as Quiver Trees as the local Khosian people use the trees to make quivers for their arrows. That afternoon, spend some time checking out the historic sights on the farm where you’ll be staying.

    Days 5-6: Walking Among the Mighty Sand Dunes

    After breakfast, there is a chance to visit with the !Xung (San) people before you head to the Namib-Naukluft National Park. Your accommodation is just outside the park, but notice how the landscape has already started to change. 

    The next day, you will have the opportunity to have a full day in the park as you drive to the massive sand dunes of the Sossusvlei. These sand dunes are said to be some of the highest in the world and can reach a height of 300m. Explore the area on foot with a local desert guide before you transfer to the famous Dune 45 and the chance to hike up this mighty attraction.

    Days 7-8: Getting a Bit of Culture in Swakopmund

    This morning you cross the Tropic of Capricorn as you journey to the Atlantic Coast and a brief stop in Walvis Bay to see the flamingos. If you catch them at the right time, there can be thousands of flamingos resting in the lagoon. After the stop, continue on to the quaint, idyllic town of Swakopmund. 

    Today is yours to experience this historic town, and all it has to offer. Swakopmund is Namibia’s adventure capital with activities such as quad biking, sand boarding, and skydiving to name a few. Otherwise, you can sleep in, and then enjoy the many shops and cafes in the city centre.

    Day 9: Meeting the Himba People

    Say good bye to the coast as you drive inland en route for Kamanjab in the north-west part of Namibia. This area is the home to the Himba people – a pastoral people known for their distinctive style of dress. If time permits, you’ll have the chance to visit and learn about this fascinating group.

    Days 10-11: Game Viewing in Etosha National Park

    Today you’ll travel to Namibia’s best game park – Etosha National Park – for two nights of game viewing and exploring this fantastic park. Etosha is one of the best parks for viewing game as the sparse conditions don’t allow the animals to hide as easily, and the elevated truck will increase your chances, too. 

    In the evenings, you’ll stay at one of the accommodation sites inside the park. After dinner, you can wander over to the floodlit water hole to observe the nocturnal wildlife that’ll come for a drink.

    Day 12: Shopping in Windhoek

    Following an early morning game drive, you’ll exit the park and make your way south to the capital, Windhoek. Along the way, stop at one of the local craft markets to buy some gifts. Once in Windhoek, there will be time for you to explore the city, and have dinner (own expense) at one of the many excellent restaurants.

    Days 13: Entering Botswana

    Leaving Namibia, you cross into Botswana as you travel east to the town of Ghanzi. This evening after dinner, you’ll be entertained with some traditional tribal dancing by the local San community.

    Days 14-16: Flying Over the Okavango Delta

    Head to the gateway of the Okavango Delta, Maun, today and prepare for your two night excursion into the world’s largest inland. 

    Boarding a small plane, the next day, you’re transported to your tented camp – Moremi Crossing – in the heart of the Delta. Though animals can be spotted from the camp site, you’ll spend the next two days exploring this impressive area on foot with local guides searching for these fantastic animals. In the afternoon, cruise up the Delta’s waterways on a guided boat cruise. Experience the calls of the wild as you sit around a camp fire in the evenings.

    Day 17: Discovering the Baobab Tree

    Hopping back into the planes you’ll return to Maun and reunite with your overland truck for the drive to Gweta and the Planet Baobab. In the late afternoon, why not head out on an optional Baobab Bush Walk to learn more about these ancient trees.

    Days 18: Cruising Down the Chobe River

    Make your way north to the town of Kasane which is the launching point for the Chobe National Park. Enjoy a sunset cruise up the Chobe River as you search the banks and shallow waters for any wildlife that have come down for a drink. Often you can see elephants, hippos, and giraffes.

    Days 19-20: Ending Your Adventure in Vic Falls

    After an optional morning game drive in the Chobe National Park, your journey takes you to your final destination – Victoria Falls. After some time to learn about the adventure activities you can do the next day, you’ll embark on a tour of the Victoria Falls National Park, and witness the mighty Falls in person. In the evening, enjoy another sunset cruise though this time up the Zambezi River, or maybe wander into Victoria Falls for dinner at one of the many restaurants

    The next day your tour ends following breakfast, but many people spend the morning before their flight out, either walking with the lions or on a helicopter flight over the Falls. An extra night is recommended so that you can partake in some of the other activities, such as white water rafting, bungee jumping, or an elephant excursion.
