    Day 1: Arriving in Nairobi

    Today there are no organised activities, only optional ones, which means you can arrive at anytime during the day depending on your desires to explore Nairobi or to partake in any of the activities. In the evening, you will meet your guide and be briefed on your upcoming tour.

    Day 2: Spotting Flamingos in Lake Nakuru

    Depart the bustling city of Nairobi as you travel north over the Rift Valley Escarpment, have your cameras ready for some breathtaking shots. Descend to the valley floor as you continue to Lake Nakuru National Park and begin to search for rhino, leopard, and lions. Stop and walk along the shore of the lake to view the thousands of flamingos that gather here.

    Day 3: Camping On the Shores of Lake Naivasha

    A short drive gets you to the renowned Lake Naivasha where you’ll set up camp under the Fever trees within view of the lake. In the afternoon, take the opportunity to visit Elsamere for afternoon tea and a chance to learn about Joy and George Adamson, the former owners of the home.

    Days 4-5: Game Viewing in the Masai Mara

    This morning you travel through farm country and past a few tea plantations on your way to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy a relaxing evening and hot shower at your camp on the border of the park. 

    Wake up early the next day to begin your full day of game viewing in the spectacular reserve. The Mara is home to a large number of big cat herds, as well as elephants, giraffes and, of course, zebras and wildebeests. Enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the hippos wading in the Mara River.

    Day 6: Crossing into Tanzania

    Exiting out of the west side of the Mara, you’ll cross into Tanzania and head south to Africa’s largest lake, Lake Victoria. Set up camp on the shores of the lake, as you spend the rest of the day exploring a local market, and the village. Dinner this evening will be at a local restaurant.

    Days 7: Driving The Western Corridor of the Serengeti

    Enter one of East Africa’s premier game parks, the Serengeti National Park, and begin another day of game viewing searching for the African ‘Big 5.’ Enjoy the serenity of the western corridor, as this area isn’t typically visited by tourists, as you drive to the Seronera area. You’ll set up camp in this centrally located area of the park.

    Day 8: Sleeping On the Rim of the Ngorongoro Crater

    Head out on an active morning game drive, searching for the wildlife you missed yesterday, as you make your way out of the park and into the Ngorongoro Conservation area. 

    Keep an eye out for the Maasai people who still live the by traditional methods, and herd their cattle among the wildlife. Tonight you’ll camp at the renowned Simba Camp on the rim of the stunning Ngorongoro Crater.

    Day 9-10: Visiting a Local Maasai Village

    Set off early and descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater to explore another of East Africa’s premier game parks. The Crater is home to almost all the big game, and its small enclosed space helps make the Crater one of the finest game viewing experiences available. Returning to camp, enjoy a tasty lunch before heading east to local Maasai village. 

    The next day explore the village and surrounding area on foot as you learn about the Maasai way of life. Visit the local market, practising your barter skills for some of their traditional crafts.

    Day 11: Relaxing in Arusha

    Your journey, today, takes you to the bustling town of Arusha at the foot of Mount Meru. The rest of the day will be yours to experience this lively town and its local market. Enjoy a nice meal (own expense) at one of local restaurants.

    Day 12: Shuttling Back to Nairobi

    Following breakfast, you’ll be driven to the shuttle terminal for your transfer to Nairobi. Your tour will officially end once you arrive in the capital city.
