    Day 1: Game viewing in the Masai Mara

    Departing Nairobi drive across the Rift Valley to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve for an afternoon of game viewing in this stunning locale. Though it’s well known for the annual migration, the Mara is home to some of the most abundant wildlife in Africa, particular big cats. It is a perfect safari location any time of the year.

    Day 2: Cycling around Hell’s Gate National Park

    Travel north to Hell’s Gate National Park near Lake Naivasha. Spend the afternoon touring the park for wildlife on a bicycle – one of the more popular optional activities.

    Day 3: Seeing pink in Lake Nakuru National Park

    Head this morning to the Lake Nakuru National Park in the central highlands. The park is famous for the vast number of flamingos that flock to the shoreline of its lake. An afternoon drive will give you the opportunity to get up close with these pink creatures, and the many others that inhabit the park, such as rhino, lion, and giraffe.

    Days 4-5: Visiting the Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary

    Say goodbye to Kenya as you travel to the Ugandan border, before stopping for a photo at the equator. Later you’ll arrive at the capital, Kampala and the rest of the day will be yours to explore the city. 

    Today is a free day for you to relax and unwind after all the driving you’ve done in the last few days. You can continue to explore Kampala, or why not optionally visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary on Ngamba Island. Established in 1998, the project was formed to help care for orphaned chimpanzees.

    Day 6: Relaxing at Lake Bunyonyi

    This morning drive to the stunning, small lake, Lake Bunyonyi. This beautiful lake has an abundant amount of bird life, and is best known for its dense Otter population. Take the rest of the day to relax and enjoy the scenery.

    Days 7-9: Trekking with the Gorillas

    These three days have been allocated for you to track the gorillas, though you will only spend one day trekking. The other days are set aside to allow other members of your truck to trek, if you have more than six on your tour.

    On the days you are not trekking, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and partake in some optional activities such as a nature walk in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Should permits not be available for the gorillas in Uganda, then they may be purchased for Rwanda or the DRC.

    Day 10: Spotting unique game in Queen Elizabeth

    Today head north to the renowned Queen Elizabeth National Park for an opportunity to spot some unique animal species such as the giant forest hog, and the tree climbing lions of the Ishasha Sector.

    Days 11-12: Rafting the Nile in Jinja

    After a morning game drive around the park, make your way to Jinja – the adventure capital of Uganda. Jinja is where the world famous Nile River forms and begins its journey to Egypt. White water rafting is one of the most popular optional activities here, but you can also go quad biking, mountain biking or volunteer for the day at an NGO that educates the youth.

    Day 13: Getting to new heights in Eldoret

    Crossing back into Kenya, travel to Eldoret – Kenya’s 5th largest city - for the night. The Rift Valley is still a domineering feature of the region as the city sits at 2 100m above sea level.

    Day 14: Ending in Nairobi

    Following breakfast, you continue your way to Nairobi where your tour will officially end upon your arrival in the city.
