    Day 1: Discovering ‘Gold’ in Pilgrim’s Rest

    Depart Johannesburg early in the morning as you head for the beautiful landscapes of Mpumalanga. Stop at the mining town of Pilgrim’s Rest, Mac-Mac Falls and the look point of God’s Window. Continue onto your lodge near the quaint town of Graskop.

    Days 2-3: Searching for the Big 5 in Kruger

    Travel to the world-famous Kruger National Park for 2 days of game viewing in this extraordinary wildlife park. The Kruger has some of the greatest concentration of species and has 16 different ecosystems. 

    Spend your morning and afternoons on game drives searching for the ‘Big 5’ and many other animals. In the evenings, you can head out on optional night drives with a SANP ranger, or relax by the fire and listen to the calls of the wild.

    Day 4: Crossing into Swaziland

    Cross into the mountainous Kingdom of Swaziland and make your way to the stunning Malolotja Nature Reserve. The reserve is renowned for its diverse landscapes from short grasslands to dense scrub bush, and forest. 

    Enjoy the afternoon as you explore the area on a guided walking tour as you search out some wildlife and some fantastic mountain views.

    Days 5-6: Spotting Rhino in the Mkuzi Game Reserve

    Stop at a local craft market as you head out of Swaziland and cross back into South Africa. From the border, you’ll travel to the Mkuzi Game Reserve – a safe haven for the endangered black rhino. Visit a water hole in the late afternoon to view the wildlife that come for a drink. 

    The next morning, embark on a morning game drive to search for the majestic black rhino. Later visit a local Zulu village to learn about the Zulu culture and their way of life.

    Days 7-8: Taking in the View in the Drakensberg

    This morning make your way south to your cottage at base of the spectacular wonderland, the Drakensberg Mountains. Spend your days at the bottom of the ‘Barrier of Spears’ as you explore the many trails, swim in the mountain streams, and take in the stunning views.

    Days 9-10: Relaxing on the Wild Coast

    Spend the next 2 nights on the unspoiled Wild Coast as you stay within walking distance of the beach. Enjoy the tranquility of the place as you explore the dramatic coastline, meet some of the locals, or relax on the beach.

    Day 11: Searching for Elephants in Addo

    Drive along the coast to the renowned Addo Elephant National Park, spending the afternoon searching for the majestic animals that give the park its name. Founded in 1931, the park was set up to protect the last remaining wild elephants which have, by today, increased 30 fold.

    Days 12-13: Exploring the Garden Route

    Continuing along the coast, you’ll reach the quaint coastal town of Knysna. Your accommodation for the night is a lodge located on a tranquil lagoon. Tonight you can venture into Knysna for a delicious seafood dinner at an excellent restaurant. 

    The next day embark on a full day excursion to the picturesque Tsitsikamma National Park. Here you can set out on a hike up the Storms River Gorge, walk some of the Otter Trail, or book an optional tree-top canopy tour.

    Day 14: Whale Watching in Hermanus

    Travel through the Garden Route to the coastal town of Hermanus. From May to November, the town has some of the best land based whale viewing opportunities. In the summer, the town comes alive with holiday goers and those searching for beach time. 

    Once you arrive, explore the magnificent coastline before having a scrumptious dinner at one of the local restaurants.

    Days 15-16: Exploring the Mother City

    Today, you drive inland to South Africa’s famous wine region, Stellenbosch, for a wine tasting (own expense), and cellar tour. After the stop, continue on to your final destination – Cape Town. 

    Spend the remainder of the day, and the next exploring this cosmopolitan city. Head out to Cape Point, via Boulders Beach and Hout Bay, and visit the V&A Waterfront to do some shopping.

    Day 17: Climbing Table Mountain

    Wake up early to climb Table Mountain and get some dramatic views of the city and area below. Spend the afternoon catching up on some last minute curio shopping on Long Street. Your tour, officially, ends at 6pm.
