    Days 1-2: Game viewing in the Masai Mara

    This morning you’ll depart Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, and head north descending into the Great Rift Valley. Travel through the valley past the town of Narok to the renowned Masai Mara.

    Explore the rolling hills and vast plains of the Mara, on some morning and afternoon game drives, for big cats, elephants, buffalo, and other large mammals. Return in the evenings to your campsite which is situated just outside the park, to enjoy a delicious meal by the campfire.

    Day 3: Dining at Carnivores in Nairobi

    Today, you’ll drive back across Kenya’s farmland, through the Rift Valley to the vibrant city of Nairobi. Take the opportunity, tonight, to enjoy a delicious meal at one of Nairobi’s excellent restaurants.

    Days 4-5: Discovering the markets of Arusha

    From Nairobi you’ll head south crossing into Tanzania as you make your way to Arusha. The city is known as Tanzania’s ‘safari capital’ and is a bustling mix of colourful markets, shops, and people.

    Enjoy 2 nights to explore the region around Arusha with the opportunity to visit a local school, the markets, and a local Maasai village. At the camp site, there is also a museum and snake park to experience.

    Days 6-7: Exploring the Serengeti National Park

    Transfer into smaller safari vehicles as you set off on a 3-day excursion to the famous Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. Today, you’ll drive over the Rift Valley Escarpment and through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the plains of the Serengeti.

    Partake on a small game drive as you enter the park and make your way to the camp site in the central part of the park. The Serengeti is home to an enormous mixture of grazing animals, predators and birdlife.

    After a morning game drive searching for lions, elephants, and rhinos, you’ll exit the Serengeti and travel back through the conservation area for your camp site on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.

    Day 8: Game driving on the Crater floor

    Begin your day a bit earlier today as you descend to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for a full morning of game viewing. The Crater, because of its enclosed area, is one of the best game viewing opportunities in East Africa.

    Following lunch, ascend out of the Crater for your drive back through the Tanzanian highlands to Arusha for the night.

    Day 9: Gazing upon the mighty Kilimanjaro

    Hopping back into your overland truck, you’ll drive east to the town of Moshi where, on a clear day, you should be able to see the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. From Moshi, your drive takes you south through the Usumbara Mountains and the lush forests of coastal areas to the city of Dar es Salaam. Situated on the Indian Ocean, you’ll set up camp just outside the city centre on the ocean.

    Days 10-12: Soaking up the sun on Zanzibar

    This morning you’ll leave your overland truck on the mainland and board the local ferry for the exotic island of Zanzibar.

    Spend the next 3 nights exploring this fascinating place full of history, culture, and enticing locales. Enjoy some time wandering the narrow streets of Stone Town visiting some of the local shops and bazaars, taking a day tour to the Jozani Forest or out to Prison Island, or spend some time relaxing on any of the white sandy beaches the line the coast.

    Your itinerary on the island is not set, and is open to your design. As such, your food and accommodation is not included and has not been organised.

    Day 13: Relaxing on the beach in Dar es Salaam

    Today, you’ll rejoin your group in Stone Town and board the ferry back to the mainland and your camp site in Dar es Salaam for another night before leaving the coast.

    Day 14: Spending the night in the Tanzanian Highlands

    Say goodbye to the Indian Ocean as you make your way inland through the vast tea plantations and southern highlands towards Malawi. Tonight, you’ll stop in the small (comparatively) Mikuni National Park for the night.

    Days 15-19: Experiencing the Lake Malawi Coast

    This morning you’ll enter Malawi and continue to the renowned Lake Malawi. This massive lake covers nearly a fifth of the country’s area, and runs the length of the eastern side of the country.

    You’ll spend the next 5 days travelling south along its coast stopping at various camp sites to enjoy a variety of optional activities. Experience some excellent snorkelling/diving in the lake’s crystal clear waters, explore the coast by horseback or sea-kayak, or visit a local village or market.

    Day 20-21: Travelling through Zambia

    Crossing into Zambia, you’ll travel south through the lush sub-tropical landscape of the Zambian countryside. Stop along the way for a few nights’ rest near the Luangwa River and the capital, Lusaka.

    Day 22-23: Getting a rush in Livingstone

    Continuing south, arrive today in Livingstone and set up camp on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. Take the opportunity over the next 2 days to enjoy the many optional activities available, such as white water rafting, bungee jumping, lion walks or taking a scenic flight over the Falls.

    Day 24: Say goodbye to the mighty Victoria Falls
