    Day 1: Spending the Night in Nata

    Leaving from Johannesburg early in the morning, you make your way north to the Botswana border. After the border formalities, you continue north towards your camp site near Nata and the Makgadigadi salt pans. Tonight your guide will explain to you what life is like on an overland tour.

    Day 2: Explore the Chobe National Park

    After a tasty breakfast, drive north to the town of Kasane where you’ll enter the Chobe National Park. Drive around the park in search of the huge herds of elephants and other wildlife before leaving the park and heading for the Zimbabwean border to spend the night in Victoria Falls.

    Days 3-4: Getting a Rush in Victoria Falls

    Experience Africa’s adventure capital as you spend two days partaking in a vast number of optional adrenalin-filled activities such as bungee jumping, white water rafting, or taking a lion walk at a rehabilitation centre. With your guide, visit the spectacular Victoria Falls – one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. 

    Enjoy a traditional night of song and dance, as you braai (barbeque) out by the pool of your hotel for your second night in town. The next night, head out and explore one of many excellent restaurants for dinner (own expense).

    Day 5: Over Night in the Lower Zambezi Valley

    Cross into Zambia by the old railway bridge and journey through southern Zambia to the Lower Zambezi Valley and the Kafue Camp. Tonight you’ll camp by the river, preparing for your 3-night canoeing excursion.

    Days 6-8: Canoeing Down the Lower Zambezi River

    Spend the next three days winding down the mighty Zambezi River on a canoe as you pass through some of the most beautiful country in Africa. Check out the wildlife along the shore as you float down the river. 

    Your first two nights will be spent bush camping on the banks of the river. On the last day, you’ll transfer back to Kafue Camp by boat for a much needed shower and catered meal (own expense).

    Day 9: Travelling Through Zambia

    Hopping back into your overland truck, you’ll make your way, via Lusaka, towards South Luangwa National Park.  Today, you’ll try to cover as much distance as possible, and camp as near the park as you can.

    Days 10-11: Game Viewing in the South Luangwa National Park

    Today you get the chance to experience South Luangwa National Park, a hidden gem of a game park, as you camp for 2-nights on the bank of the Luangwa River. Sometimes you can view hippos from the camp. 

    While here, head out on an extensive game drive through the park searching for its impressive hippo population, the elusive leopard, and other wildlife that call the park home. In the evening, book an optional night game drive to search for the nocturnal animals.

    Days 12-13: Relaxing on the Coast of Lake Malawi

    Heading into Malawi, stop at the capital, Lilongwe, for some supplies as you make your way to the well-known Lake Malawi. Enjoy the sandy beaches and crystal clear waters as you relax on the beach or head out on a snorkelling excursion. Tonight, sit back and relax by the fire as you look out over water as your camp site is right there on the beach.

    Days 14-15: Marvel at the view from Mulanie

    Travelling south, you drive to the massive Mulanje – a mountain of granite in an otherwise lush forest. Set up camp at the base, and spend the next two days exploring and hiking this exceptional highlight. The views from the 600m plateau are breathtaking.

    Day 16: Bush Camp in the wilds of Chimoio

    This morning you cross into Mozambique and travel through the Tete corridor and along the mountains that create a natural border with Zimbabwe to the secluded area of Chimoio. Tonight you’ll bush camp in the wilds of Chimoio.

    Day 17: Gazing Upon the Indian Ocean

    Your journey, today, takes you past several bustling villages as you head to the Indian Ocean Coast and the town of Vilanculos. Enjoy the rest of the day taking a swim in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Later, spending the night relaxing on the beach, literally just metres from your casita (little house).

    Days 18-20: Relaxing in the Port of Inhambane

    Driving south along the coast, your next accommodation for the night will be near the trading port of Inhambane. After some time, exploring the town, you’ll continue to the camp and settle into your casita.

    Over the next two days, enjoy the many optional activities available from snorkelling in the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean, horse back riding on the beach, or booking a diving excursion to one of the incredible reefs off shore. Simply, too, you can relax on the stunning beach and soak up the African sun.

    Day 21: Resting in the Capital of Mozambique

    Continuing along the coast and through forests of cashew nuts, you’ll drive to the capital of Mozambique, Maputo. After checking into your hotel, the rest of the day will be yours to experience this vibrant, former Portuguese colonial city.

    Day 22: Spotting the Big 5 in the Kruger

    Following a brief city tour, make your way to the border with South Africa and drive to the world-famous Kruger National Park for the night. Once you’ve entered the park, embark on a short game drive as you make your way to your camp site.

    Day 23: More Game Viewing in the Kruger

    Spend the day experience this amazing game park as you search for the African Big 5 and other wildlife. Kruger National Park has over 140 additional mammals, including hippo, giraffe, and zebra, for you to view. Later in afternoon, travel to your hotel in Hazyview for the night.

    Day 24: Ending your Tour in Johannesburg

    After a slow start to the day, start your journey back to Johannesburg – the city of gold. Your tour will end once you arrive in the city in the late afternoon.
