Parks & Destinations

Namibia is dominated by the brooding and desolate Namib Desert. A Namibia must-do is to climb a dune at Sossusvlei in the Namib Naukluft National Park.

Another must-do is to watch the sun drop over the immense Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world.

Etosha National Park is also in the desert, but 3 000 species of birds and mammals survive on the magical waterholes scattered throughout the park.

Wildlife
Highlights at Etosha are watching rhino or elephant drinking at a waterhole at night, or spotting cheetah stalk through the short grass on the plains.

At Cape Cross on the Skeleton Coast, over 100 000 seals make their home on the same rock.
Overlanders

The Namib Desert is famous for its giant dunes and there’s no better way to conquer these towering beauties than to zoom down them head first on a traditional Swakopmund sandboard.

Another way to explore the dune fields is by quad-bike – a 4-wheel all terrain motorbike.

The Namibian coast is also regarded as one of the best fishing grounds in the world.
