Enjoy a 14-day exploration of Botswana, with some time spent at Victoria Falls in Zambia.
Your journey begins with a visit to the Kalahari Desert, after which you travel to the portion of the Okavango Delta that falls within the Moremi Game Reserve.
After exploring the delta, head for Planet Baobab, where you'll camp beneath these enormous trees.
Cross over into Zambia and make your way to Livingstone where you'll have a chance to experience the awesome sight of the legendary Victoria Falls.
Return to Botswana where you'll camp on the banks of the Chobe River before making your way back to Johannesburg.
DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Set Off for the Kalahari Meals: HB
Your adventure begins early as you leave the bustling metropolis of Johannesburg behind, setting your sights for Botswana, enjoying the changing scenery as you drive.
Pass through the Central Kalahari Desert as you make your way to your accommodation for the night at Kang Ultra Stop Chalets.
Day 2: Experience the Kalahari Meals: FB
Journey to a Bushman village in the Kalahari where you'll set up camp before setting out on an hour-long guided bush walk.
This project is run and managed by - and directly benefits - the local Bushman community.
Return to camp where you'll have a chance to relax and take in a spectacular Kalahari sunset.
Day 3: Travel to Maun Meals: FB
After enjoying breakfast and packing up camp, you travel to Botswana's capital - Maun - also known as the 'Gateway to the Okavango'.
After setting up camp, you have the option of taking a scenic flight over the delta, or you can explore the busy streets and bustling markets.
Enjoy a leisurely dinner before turning in early in preparation for your next busy day.
Days 4-5: Visit the Delta and Moremi Reserve Meals: FB
Spend the next 2 days exploring the Moremi Game Reserve and the portion of the Okavango Delta that lies within its borders.
Set out on morning and afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles.
Explore the many channels and waterways of the delta in a traditional mokoro (dug-out canoe) and enjoy lunch one of the many islands. Depending on the level of the water, you might also enjoy a guided nature walk on one of the islands.
Days 6-7: Enjoy Great Game Viewing Meals: FB
Travel to the vast and remote Khwai area of the Moremi Game Reserve - a region that is lush and green, and offers abundant wildlife.
Enjoy thrilling morning and afternoon game drives in your open 4x4 safari vehicle.
Day 8: Make Camp Beneath the Baobabs Meals: FB
Leaving the Moremi behind, return to Maun where you can enjoy lunch and stretch your legs with a walk through the busy streets.
Continue your journey, making your way to Planet Baobab where you will set up camp beneath the cluster of these ancient trees.
Days 9-10: Spend Time at Victoria Falls Meals: FB
Cross the border into Zambia and head for the legendary 'Smoke That Thunders' - Victoria Falls.
Enjoy some leisure time and browse the local markets, or take part in one of the many adrenalin-packed optional activities on offer, including white-water rafting, bungee jumping and microlighting over the Falls.
Day 11: Camp Beside the Chobe River Meals: FB
Return to Botswana and make your way to the banks of the Chobe River, famed for its abundant wildlife and spectacular sunsets.
Enjoy one these glorious sunsets as you glide down the river on a sundowner cruise and see the animals as they come to the river to drink.
Day 12: Visit the Khama Rhino Sanctuary Meals: FB
Travel south through Botswana as you head for the Khama Rhino Sanctuary, arriving mid-afternoon.
This community-based wildlife project protects and restores the area to its natural state as well as engaging and benefiting the local community.
Day 13: Cross the Border into South Africa Meals: FB
Cross the border into South Africa and travel to the scenic Limpopo Province where you'll set up camp for the night.
Enjoy your last night with your fellow travellers around the campfire.
Day 14: End your Journey
After packing up and enjoying breakfast, you'll head for Johannesburg, stopping along the way in Pretoria for lunch.
