Overview
The true Overland explorer will find this safari thrilling yet easy-going. As we spend at least two nights at each destination, it gives you the opportunity to fully embrace Botswana in its’ true form. You’ll then be welcomed in Maun where we spend two nights in comfort in this popular city, experiencing the local restaurants and guided tours – you’ll already feel at home. Botswana has so much to offer – from the beautiful waterways of the Okavango Delta to the wildlife in the Moremi Game Reserve to the Chobe Nature Reserve. Eventually, we will end the tour with a visit to the unforgettable Victoria Falls. In 12 days, Botswana will boast its’ best.
Detailed Itinerary
We are welcomed in Maun and taken to a local restaurant for a light lunch before being transferred to our first comfort bush camp on the Gomoti River. The evening in the African bush is spent relaxing around the campfire under the bright stars of the southern hemisphere. Duncan’s Camp (or similar)

This morning we are taken on a guided walk to experience the smells, sights snd sounds of the wilderness. Leisure time to relax before lunch, hereafter our game drive into the concession area with sundowners while watching the majestic African sunset. Duncan’s Camp (or similar)

Day 3: Kenga Island, Okavango Delta concession area
After breakfast our guide transfers us to a boat station for our boat excursion which takes us into the Okavango channels and lagoon areas enroute to our tented camp on an Island. Here we have the chance of seeing hippos, crocodiles and the birdlife endemic to the area. Kenga Island Tented Camp (or similar)

Day 4: Kenga Island, Okavango Delta concession area
We further explore the channels and waterways of the Okavango Delta in the morning by boat, taking in the serenity of our surrounds and water bird species of the area. After relaxing during the heat of the day we are taken on a sunset cruise to photograph the spectacular Delta sunset. Kenga Island Tented Camp (or similar)

Day 5: Third Bridge Tented Camp, Xakanaxa area of Moremi
A hearty breakfast before we are boated back to the boat station where a leisure game drive transfers into Moremi Game Reserve and onto our next comfort camp. The variety of bird species here will keep us enthralled. Late afternoon we have the opportunity to explore the area on a sundowner game drive. Third Bridge Tented Camp (or similar)

Day 6: Third Bridge Tented Camp, Xakanaxa area of Moremi
Our morning and afternoon game drives explore the area with its combination of open grasslands, woodland thicket and lagoons which create special habitat for Cheetah, Wild Dog and Honey Badger. Third Bridge Tented Camp (or similar)

Day 7: Hyena Pan Bush Camp, Khwai concession area
We move into the Khwai area of Moremi today for our game drive and picnic lunch. Our camp is in a private concession adjoining Moremi Game Reserve. There are no fences between the Park and the private concession making our night drive even more fantastic. Hyena Pan Camp (or similar)

Day 8: Hyena Pan Bush Camp, Khwai concession area
Today our guide takes us exploring the Khwai floodplains and the serenity of the surrounding wilderness is overpowering. Hyena Pan Camp (or similar)

Day 9: Chobe National Park
Mid-morning we are transferred to the Khwai airstrip where we meet our air transfer to Kasane airport. A lodge representative road transfers us to our luxury lodge near the Chobe River. The afternoon is spent at leisure either enjoying bird watching from our deck or enjoying a nature walk on the lodge premises. We could also join one of the local guide for an educational stroll through the nearby village and learn a little about their customs and traditions. Chobe Bakwena Lodge (or similar)

Day 10: Chobe National Park
Today we are taken into Chobe National Park for a morning game drive which offers the best chance to encounter the big cats and unique experiences of Chobe. Chobe is famous for its beautiful scenery and magnificent sunsets. It is also home to the largest elephant population in Africa which we may witness during our afternoon boat cruise on the River. Mid-morning we are transferred out of Chobe area of Botswana and cross the border to our lodge accommodation in Zimbabwe. Time at leisure to enjoy the many optional activities on offer. (Own expense). Ilala Lodge (or similar accommodation)
