    Day 1: Meeting the !Kwa ttu People

    Leaving Cape Town, make a stop in Table View to get one last spectacular shot of Table Mountain before continuing north to the Cederberg mountains. 

    Along the way, you stop again, this time to visit the !Kwa ttu people, and tour their village near Yzerfontein. After lunch, your travels continue to your camp site in Cederberg.

    Day 2: Crossing the Namaqualand

    After an early wake up, drive north via the town of Springbok and the big sky country of Namaqualand to the Orange River near the Namibia border. Enjoy an evening of relaxing by the river and looking up at the millions of stars in the night sky.

    Day 3: Dining on the Rim of the Fish River Canyon

    This morning you have the chance to float down this beautiful river valley by canoe on an optional morning excursion, or just relax by the river. Following lunch, cross the border into Namibia and travel to the Fish River Canyon. 

    Arriving in the late afternoon, you’ll have some time to wander around the rim of the second largest canyon, before you enjoy a delicious sunset meal.

    Days 4-5: Running Up Dune 45

    Your journey takes you to the Namib-Naukluft National Park today, where you’ll set up camp and then take a short hike to the Sesriem Canyon. Similar to the Fish River Canyon, though not in size, the Sesriem Canyon is a fascinating attraction as it’s not visible from the ground until you are right up close. 

    The next day will be an early wake up as you make your way to the Sossusvlei Dunes to climb the famous Dune 45. Marvel at the change of colour of the sand from red to shades of orange and apricot as the sun rises into the sky. Afterwards, embark with a local expert on a guided walking tour of the dunes and the area.

    Days 6-7: Getting Your Heart Going in Swakopmund

    Today you travel through the moon-like Kusieb Valley to the Atlantic coast and the adventure capital of Namibia, Swakopmund. Along the way, stop briefly at the Walvis Bay lagoon to observe the flamingos that rest there on their travels. The first afternoon will be yours to enjoy at your leisure after you are briefed about the many optional activities available. 

    On your second day, partake in the activities you have chosen such as skydiving, quad biking, sand boarding, or if you chose just explore the historic town of Swakopmund. There are many shops and cafes in town to keep you busy.

    Day 8: Standing On Top of Spitzkoppe

    Say goodbye to the coast as you drive inland through the rugged landscape to Spitzkoppe Mountain. This massive monolith dominates the otherwise flat landscape, you’ll set up camp at its base. In the afternoon, head out and explore the distinctive rock formations and San rock art in the area. Some may want to hike up the mountain to get some stunning views of the area.

    Day 9: Discovering the Himba People

    Following some more exploration continue north towards Kamanjab for the night. Some time today, experience the life in a Himba tribe as you visit one of villages giving you the chance to meet and learn about their pastoral culture.

    Days 10-11: Game Viewing in Etosha National Park

    This morning make your way to the famous Namibian game park – Etosha National Park – for two days of game drives. This park is unique for game viewing as the sparse vegetation allows visitors a better chance to see the wildlife. 

    During the day, explore the park searching for the variety of wildlife such as zebra, giraffe, and cheetahs, while at night you can sit by the flood-lit water hole observing the animals as they come for a drink.

    Day 12: Ending in Windhoek

    After one final game drive, you set off for Windhoek, Namibia’s largest city and capital. Along the way, you can stop at a popular craft market for some last minute gifts for the family. Your tour ends upon your arrival in Windhoek.
