    Days 1-2: Explore the Mother City

    Starting in the afternoon of day 1, you’ll spend the next day and a half exploring the Mother City and all of her highlights, including Table Mountain, Cape Point, and Stellenbosch to name a few. The exact itinerary for your days will depend on the weather. Your nights will be spent at a cosy beach side hotel, ideally located for you to explore.

    Day 3: Travel through the Swartland

    Departing Cape Town, drive around Table Bay for one last glimpse and panoramic photo of Table Mountain from across the bay. Continuing north, you’ll travel through the ‘Swartland’ and the area of Namaqualand. In the spring this area is a vast array of colours as the numerous wild flowers bloom.

    Days 4-5: Canoeing on the Orange River

    This morning you cross into Namibia and drive for a short distance to your base camp on the northern bank of the Orange River. Here you transfer to canoes and set off down the river for an overnight excursion. Notice the stunning scenery of desert conditions, towering mountains, and a river of blue as you float along. Tonight, you’ll bush camp on the banks for the river. 

    The next day, you’ll return to your base camp and set up your camp for an evening of relative comfort.

    Day 6: Wandering the Rim of the Fish River Canyon

    Today you make your way north to the well-known Fish River Canyon – the second largest canyon in the world. Stop for a while to explore the rim of the canyon and take in some of the amazing views from the viewpoints. After some time at the canyon, you’ll move onto your camp site to set up for the night under the Namibian starry sky.

    Days 7-8: Discovering the Namib Desert

    Continuing north through the Namib Desert, you’ll stop for two nights on a private game reserve situated next to the stark Naukluft Mountains and the begins of the red sand dunes of Namib-Naukluft National Park. While here, enjoy the opportunity to go on some guided walks and drives in the reserve as you search for the local wildlife. In the evening, head out on a night game drive to view the unique nocturnal animals of the region.

    Days 9-10: Relaxing in Swakopmund

    Wake up early to travel to the massive sand dunes of the Sossusvlei – some of the world’s highest dunes at 300m. Stopping at Dune 45, you’ll have the chance to take in the spectacular view from the top as you climb this immense attraction. 

    Returning to your overland truck, you start the journey to Atlantic Coast, passing through the moon-like area of the Kuiseb Valley, and Swakopmund , your base for the next two nights. 

    Your accommodation is ideally located for you to explore the quaint town of Swakopmund and to partake in the many adventure activity options, such as quad biking, sand boarding, or skydiving.

    Day 11: Counting Seals at Cape Cross

    Your journey, today, takes you north along the Atlantic Coast to the seal colony of Cape Cross before you turn inland and stop at the impressive monolith of Spitzkoppe. Tonight you’ll set up camp at the base of this ancient San sacred site.

    Day 12: Admiring the Rock Art in Brandberg

    Heading through the rugged terrain of the Damaraland, visit the bushman rock engravings at Brandberg before stopping at the foot of this famous mountain for the night. Keep your eyes open as you might catch a glimpse of the adapted desert elephant as it roams freely.

    Days 13-14: Game Viewing in Etosha National Park

    Experience one of Namibia’s premier and unique game parks as you enter the Etosha National Park and proceed to your camp site inside the park. After setting up camp, embark on an afternoon game drive in search of the resident wildlife. Etosha is home to 4 of the famous Big 5 – only one missing is the buffalo. At sunset, return to the camp for an evening of sitting by the flood-lit water hole. 

    Spend the whole next day exploring the Etosha Pan, stopping at various water holes, for the wildlife you didn’t get to see yesterday.

    Day 15: Rejuvenating on the Okavango River

    Departing the sparse conditions of Etosha, drive to the north-eastern part of Namibia and the lush conditions of the Caprivi region. Tonight, you’ll camp near the Botswana border on the banks of the Okavango River at Ngepi.

    Day 16: Travelling to Maun

    Crossing into Botswana, you’ll travel down the western side of the Okavango Delta towards the frontier town of Maun. Situated outside of Maun, spend the rest of the day at the camp site relaxing by pool.

    Day 17: Experiencing the Okavango Delta

    Explore the world’s largest inland delta as you travel into the Okavango Delta on traditional dugout canoes, known as a mokoro. Once at your bush camp, head out on a game walk to experience the wonder of this unique ecosystem searching for wildlife, and observing the flora and fauna. Tonight sit back and relax by the fire listening to the sounds of the wild all around you.

    Day 18: Viewing the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans

    After a brief mokoro trip out of the Delta, you return to your overland truck and drive pass the Makgadikgadi salt pans on the way to your next camp in Nata. Spend the night counting the stars as you relax under the starry Botswana night.

    Day 19: Elephant Spotting in Chobe National Park

    This morning keep your eyes open for elephants as you travel through the Chobe forest reserves to the town of Kasane. After a brief stop, begin to venture through the well-known Chobe National Park for wildlife such as lions, buffalo, and the park’s most popular animal, elephants. 

    Later this afternoon, you’ll make the short drive to the Zimbabwean town of Victoria Falls – Africa’s adventure capital. This evening after checking into your hotel, enjoy a scrumptious braai (barbeque) and watch some traditional dancing.

    Day 20: Spending the Night next to the Victoria Falls

    Learn, today, why Victoria Falls is the ‘adventure capital’ by partaking in several of the optional activities available. Spend the morning white water rafting on the Zambezi and then in the afternoon abseil into the same gorge, the Batoka Gorge, before bungee jumping off Victoria Falls Bridge. In the evening, head out to explore the town and its excellent restaurants for dinner.

    Day 21: Driving Around the Hwange National Park

    Start the day with a visit to the Victoria Falls National Park for one last glimpse of the mighty Falls up close before you make your way to the Hwange National Park. Take the opportunity to discover this fantastic national park on a open vehicle game drive. The park is one of Africa’s best conservation areas. You’ll set up camp next to a water hole in an out of the way part of the park.

    Day 22: Tracking Rhino in Matobo National Park

    Travel south, via Zimbabwe’s second largest city – Bulawayo, to the Matobo National Park for the early afternoon. Once inside the park, you’ll have the opportunity to track rhino on foot and to view the park’s other wildlife. Marvel at the perilously balanced boulders, which the park is known for, near the camp site.

    Day 23: Crossing into South Africa

    Continuing south through Zimbabwe, you cross back into South Africa and drive to a private game reserve within the Limpopo Valley for the night.

    Day 24: Ending Your Tour in Johannesburg

    Following a brief walk to view some of the stunning bushman paintings near the camp, you’ll make the way to your final destination – Johannesburg. Your tour will end upon your arrival to the cosmopolitan city.
