    Day 1: Beginning Your Adventure in Victoria Falls

    Departing Victoria Falls make way your north to the bustling city of Lusaka. Observe how the vegetation along the road becomes more sub-tropical, and the roads a little rougher. Spend the night getting to know your fellow travellers as you relax at the camp site.

    Day 2: Driving Through Zambia

    This morning depart from Lusaka passing through the lush country for Chipata – the gateway to South Luangwa National Park. Once in Chipata wander the streets and explore this truly African town.

    Days 3-4: Game Viewing the South Luangwa National Park

    After an early wake up drive to your camp for the next two nights on the border of South Luangwa National Park. Enjoy an included evening game drive in the park in the late afternoon. 

    The next day embark on either a game drive or walk through this fantastic park searching for leopards, hippos, and other wildlife. In the afternoon, experience some Zambian culture as you visit a textile project run by the local community.

    Day 5: Visit the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre

    Set out this morning for Malawi and the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre in the capital, Lilongwe. The Centre is situated on a large section of woodlands, and is the country’s only sanctuary for rescued wild animals.

    Days 6-7: Journeying Up Lake Malawi

    Drive along the scenic roadway to Kande Beach where you’ll enjoy the next two days partaking in the many optional activities available such as horse riding, or different water sports – parasailing, windsurfing, or canoeing. 

    On the following day, you get to experience some of Malawi’s local culture by going on an included guided walking tour of a local village as you meet the people and see their way of life.

    Day 8: Hike to the Manchawe Falls

    Continue up the coast of this 600km long lake to the beach of Chitimba. Enjoy the beautiful warm, tropical climate as you relax on the beach surrounded by banana palms and papaya trees.

    Day 9: Crossing into Tanzania

    Leave Lake Malawi behind as you make your way to the border of Tanzania, and head out of the Great Rift Valley. Passing through some stunning mountain passes, and vast tea plantations, you arrive at your campsite on the Kisolonza Farm just outside of Iringa.

    Day 10: Driving through Mikumi National Park

    Continue driving north through the Tanzanian highlands to the Mikumi National Park. This stunning smaller park is home to lion, wildebeest, buffalo, and elephant. Embark in the afternoon on an optional game drive to explore the park.

    Day 11: Waiting to Catch a Ferry in Dar

    Transit this morning towards the historic city of Dar es Salaam – the launching point to the island paradise of Zanzibar. Meaning ‘house of peace,’ Dar es Salaam is a diverse mix of culture, architecture, and history from its British and German colonial past. Relax on the beach at your campsite in the evening as you prepare for your 3-night excursion to Zanzibar.

    Days 12-14: Spicing Up Life on Zanzibar

    Board the local ferry, this morning, to the famous Spice Island – Zanzibar. Your first night on the island will be in Stone Town – the main town of the island. After checking in at the hotel, wander the small, narrow streets investigating the many shops, cafes, and market stalls that line them.

    The next day journey to the northern part of the island for two nights. Here you can organise some optional snorkeling, diving, or fishing excursions, or simply just relax on the white sandy beaches soaking up the sun. 

    An interesting activity is to go on a spice tour of one of the smaller farms on the island. Find out how, and where some of the world’s wonderful and fragrant spices come from.

    Day 15: Enjoy the Stunning Usambara Mountains

    Return to Stone Town in the morning to catch the ferry back to Dar es Salaam where you’ll board the overland truck and begin your journey north towards Lushoto. Spend the night camping among the Usambara Mountains.

    Day 16: Getting a Glimpse of Mount Kilimanjaro

    Today will be a long travel day as you leave the coast behind and head to the picturesque town of Karatu via Arusha. On a clear day, you should be able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro in the distance as you pass the town of Moshi.

    Days 17-19: Game Viewing in the Serengeti

    Today you have the option to go on a 3-night excursion to the renowned Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy a few game drives in an open 4x4 vehicle through these game-rich parks. You should have a pretty good chance to see the Africa Big 5, as these parks have one of the most densely population of large animals in Africa. 

    Those staying in Karatu, have the chance to explore the town and learn about the fascinating Swahili culture, history, and customs, as well as visiting some craft markets.

    Day 20: Learning About the Masaai in Arusha

    This morning those on the excursion will return to Karatu and rejoin the group with everyone traveling to Arusha for the night. There will be time for each groups to share their adventure, as you head to the local Masai Mara Museum and Snake Park. Enjoy one final official group dinner before your tour ends the next day in Nairobi.

    Day 21: Saying Goodbye in Nairobi

    Cross the border into Kenya as you say goodbye to Tanzania and your fabulous tour and make your way to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. Your tour will end upon your arrival in Nairobi, though may we suggest one final dinner (not included) with your group. Carnivore is a popular choice as it serves a variety of game meats, and other delicious local cuisine.
